I charge by the word, with rates depending on the level of editing required. Prices are in CAD and subject to tax.
What I Offer
Levels of editing support
Editing can take different forms depending on where you are in the process. Here’s a breakdown of the kinds of support I offer, from early drafts through final submission.
Copyediting
Copyediting checks grammar, usage, punctuation, and consistency.
In copyediting:
- I correct grammar, usage, punctuation, and consistency, and apply the relevant style guide.

$0.04–$0.06/word + tax
Proofreading
Proofreading is the final check before submission.
In proofreading:
- I perform a final check for typos, spacing, and formatting issues before submission.

Stylistic Editing
Stylistic editing focuses on how the text reads at the sentence and paragraph level.
In stylistic editing:
- I refine tone, rhythm, and flow while preserving your style and voice.

Developmental Editing
Developmental editing addresses the text as a whole, focusing on structure, argument, and scope.
In developmental editing:
- I assess structure, argument, and scope.
- I provide margin comments and a revision memo.

Do you offer package pricing for larger projects?
Yes. For theses, dissertations, or long manuscripts, I can provide a project-based quote.
Do you work with tight deadlines?
Sometimes. It depends on the project length and my availability. Let me know about your timeline when you contact me and I can let you know if a quick turnaround is feasible.
